This is a chance to admire the breathtaking beauty of the Northumberland landscape.  Starting on Hadrian's Wall to head north over the heather clad moors of the Simonside Hills, arriving in the picturesque and ancient village of Rothbury to join the river Coquet, from here we turn east to follow the river to the coast at Warksworth, with it's imposing castle, from here we follow the coast northward passing Northumberland's oldest stone age settlement at Howick then on to Craster, famous for oak smoked kippers, following the coast ever northward to pass the villages of Beadnell and Seahouses, at low tide some of this section can be walked on the beaches.  We then arrive at Bamburgh dominated by the castle and once the site of King Oswald's royal seat, going inland for a while to join with St Cuthberts Way for the last section to finish the walk on Lindisfarne, if tides permit we could follow the Pilgrim's path onto Holy Island.
